Its a pretty decent trade but if im Ottawa id ask for either Pitt to retain a bit or remove the protection. Id even include Demelo or someone to complete this deal

Add Demelo, remove protection and no salary retention on Johnson

No protection is a lot of risk for PIT in a good draft year, but I think the organization would be willing depending on the actual timelines for the Malkin/Rust/Bjugstad injuries.

Apparently Malkin is about 4-6 weeks. I think they could hang on for a bit till hes back
