San Jose

oh haha. What about Burns for Wheeler. Would u do that? Theyre about the same age both top offensive players at their positions, same cap hit

I think Burns brings a heartbeat to San Jose and wouldn’t work, Burns impacts is in more than just his play, I love wheeler too but Stamkos is a a little younger and has shown he can be a franchise player when healthy and firing, he hasn’t always found his consistent stride (playoffs and injuries), but I like this look, wheeler works too but I’d rather in this scenario of trades Stamkos than Burns than wheeler personally

I should rephrase, Burns first than stammer and wheeler but wheeler has as much of a case to be 1/3 as the other two, but if due to age I’d rather Stamkos if the trade has potential of coming to fruition, with Merkley possibly stepping in next year/ later this year.

I really don't think it's a good idea for Tampa Bay to trade Stamkos ever. That is their all-time best franchise player and future hall of famer. Brisebois would be out of a job. Brent Burns is one of the most elite players in the league, but Stamkos is younger by 5 years and has been elite for a few years longer than Burns. I don't think any sort of prospects/picks combo could make up for them trading their captain. This would be an enormous win for San Jose and devastating for Tampa Bay.

This is bad for TBL. Burns is way older and is signed for longer. Stamkos is way more valuable. Chmelevski and the 2nd rounder is insignificant in comparison to the difference between Burns and Stamkos
