A waste for both teams....Kulikov is pretty much hated in BUF and its a LD for a LD trade anyways

Kulikov is also going to have a piss poor attitude in Buffalo. He's also a bad dman.

Trade makes no real sense for both teams. Jets will most likely just hold onto Kulkiov in hopes he remains at 3rd pairing guy.
Giving up a 2nd rounder is a joke IMO

Its literally just a 4th for a 2nd and a scratch once montour gets back anyway

We already have a 7th dman though. A few of them actually. Why do this if the Sabres no what kulikov has said about the organization after he left?

WPG would be silly to do this. They slightly upgrade here...

@wojme come on man. Your basically getting a low 2nd to not play Scandella anymore. Just send Kulikov on waivers if you don't like him. Someone would probably take him for free. Your over exaggerating here, his attitude is nowhere near what you are saying it is.

That one year in Buffalo he was asked to be a top pairing dman , when he's not one, on a piss poor team to boot. That was the problem.

Let’s be clear here, this is a great trade for Buffalo, they are essentially trading their 6th or even 7th defenseman and a 4th for a cap dump and a 2nd. Kulikov will be put on waivers and sent to Rochester as soon as any of Pilut, Bogosian or Montour is well.
This is an OK trade for the Jets. They get a defenseman much better (much much better Kulikov had 6 pts, Scandella had 6 goals last year) than Kulikov, unload cap space and it only costs them a late 2nd round pick. Scandella was Buffalo’s top LHD during the 2017-’18 season. He has a great shot and ranked among all top pairing NHL defensemen with 6 goals last year.
Maybe a trade is made after Bogosian returns to the line up and Zach is traded and not Scandella. I may be in error but I think the Jets could use a RHD more than a LHD.

This isnt a good trade for the Jets...FYI, Kulikov already has points this year. If we are to trade him, its for a RD. Bogo isnt that much of an option...and we sure wouldnt trade a mid-high round pick for him.

Jets could use any D, but i dont think either team thinks about trades until Novemberish to better evaluate their teams. Winnipeg could really dig themselves a hole, but everyone is going to reference St Louis's turn around last season as a reason not to panic

I hope you saw that I said this is a great trade for Buffalo and an OK trade for Winnipeg (not a good trade).
My comment was more directed to the short sighted Buffalo fans who actually thought this was a bad trade and gave it a "hard pass" or "Sabres dont need D". This is a great trade for Buffalo.
I see that Kulikov has 2 pts this year, but the 3 previous years his total pts only equaled the pts Scandella had in 2017-18.
I do not want to get into a food fight with Jet fans because I think this is only a moderate improvement for the Jets.

Check out Scandella when he averaged 23 min/gm in the 2017-'18 season. In just one season he fell from top LHD to 7th defenseman, not because his play fell off but with the addition of Dahlin, Pilut, Montour, Miller and Jokiharju (as well as a healthy McCabe).
Again, I do not want to get into a food fight, you know your team better than I, I just want to point out that he could do more.

Makes no sense for the jets to give up a 2nd to get rid of Kulkov and add Scandella. Jets are more than happy to ride out the year with Kulikov playing 15-18 minutes opposed to bringing in a guy who's marginally better and hasnt been around the team.
Arguing this deal is good for either team is terrible, cause it simply won't happen

OK actually Scandella is significantly better than Kulikov. Scandella had more pts in '17-'18 the Kulikov had in three years. Scandella on his own is most likely worth about 3rd, and moving Kulikov is worth about 3rd as well. So 2 thirds are about equal to a 2nd with a 4th coming with Scandella.
In the '17-'18 season Scandella played top minutes well so he could easily do the same this year with the Jets. BTW, he is playing very well right now and has been on the ice for only 1 out of the 11 goals against this season.
You are correct this is not a great trade for the Jets, but it is an OK trade.
But you are also correct that this trade will not be made.
