I might not be looking at it fairly, but I see Ceci as a really expensive third pairing guy. Jets already are rostering 5 third pairing guys for less $$$.

If that’s all it takes to get sanheim, I’m sure the jets would outbid the leafs. Jets would take that Ceci deal if he can gain value with a bigger role in wpg, but with off ice issues following him and not sure how much of a upgrade he is to current blueline I would question cost

Jets have enough cap space for if buff comes back. if they are 100% certain that he doesnt come back they can trade for a dman. if they have even the slightest hope he comes back they dont make any moves to bring in a high cap guy.

I really like Kapanen, but I don't wanna give up Sanheim since our d core is more thin than our forward core.

I don't think you can consider it Kapanen (+) is the "+" is 26 year old who has played 40 nhl games

Sanheim is worth more than Kapanen. But why get rid of Ceci? Oh, yea it's a CapFriendly thing. Dermot isn't in lineup. So really the Leafs are weaker with the trade, trading two NHLers for one.
