Honka really hasn't done much to warrant a contract over a million.

Marleau and Gardiner just signed with their teams so they are 100% not being traded. One of the most annoying things in ACGMs I see is people trading for/away recently signed players.

Montreal isn't trading their first for that, unless they feel they can safely make the playoffs. Even then, that doesn't seem like a first-worthy package.

Well #1, buff is going to retire. #2 the MTL trade is a no from their side. #3 you’re wasting a 3rd on offer sheeting honka, you might as well trade a 3rd for him and then pay him 2x1.25. #4 why would we give up Niku+Vesa and a first for 2 years of nuge. It’s just awful asset management. This whole post is just a huge no.

Honka is overpaid merely to prevent a cap strained Dallas from matching the offer. If he pans out for the jets, it works out great, if not he walks if buff retires.

Overpay for Gardiner and Marleau is part of the plan, you add good experience to the team. At that point you trade high for them to fill the voids filled by trading Perrault in a pure cap dump trade. Montreal will be in the wild card race this year and I think they will trade their first... as Bergevin does... Perrault fits MTL's identity too.

You gotta spend money to make money. I think the reason the Jets failed to win last year was simply the fact they did not truly go all in for two years. This is how the Jets go all in. A lot of prospects have to be dealt. I can see MTL making the trade if they're in the playoffs.

I mean this is what CBJ basically did and look how it turned out for them lol. This is why idiots like you don’t run NHL teams. Chevy isn’t brain dead like you lol

Unlike CBJ, which had no forwards with scoring power long term (Ie Duchene, Panarin). Most of the Jets forward and D corps are signed long term.

Bergevin never traded a first pick for depth. He will not start the year the draft is in MTL tears of joy
