I was surprised that Sobotka was in the line up over Rodrigues. I guess winning 64% of his FO in this season is better than Johansson team’s worse FO% of only 32.5, and gets him a spot in the line up.
I remember CBJ using Dubinsky as a FO specialist in the PO. I think he won a face off then raced to the bench for a more offensive minded player. But that is not how RK is using the impaler (Vlad).

Because is trying to keep a good reputation with players, they all notice if they feel a player has been treated badly,. . Moves like that will cost you down the road . It is hard enough to get players to come here. If anything Botts will scope out European options and give Sobotka a choice of where he would like to go .When they feel Thompson is ready to step into Sobotka's second line position We get the same cap relief as sending him to Rochester
