That Anisimov trade is actually pretty smart. Think you might be able to get away with it without JP though.

What do you reckon his next contract will look like? based on him scoring about 20 goals this year.

Theres no way of telling because of his inconsistant past. 32 goals then 10-16 the next 3 or 4 seasons. Wouldn't be farfetched for him to go through that again. It would help him to be on a more offensive team like Lightning or Maple Leafs(I'm sure that won't happen) just an example

I was thinking he might get 4 x $5M if he rebounds to 20-25 goals this year, but even that might be too rich. Connolly had 22 goals and got $3.5M x 4, while Dzingel got $3.375M coming off a 26-goal campaign. It totally depends on how well he does this year, but if he repeats last year I can't see him getting more than about $3M on a short-term (say, 2 year) contract.

I think 4 for 5m is fair. If he has a good season. Time will tell!
