Why would we be giving Saad plus for Pool Party? That pick should be coming from Edmonton not the other way around. That said, Saad has been solid, there is no reason to trade him. You should be moving De Haan or Maatta or Murphy first. We have Beaudin, Boqvist, Mitchell, Gilbert, Krys, Carlsson...plenty of defensive depth on ELCs.

I agree Saad is a good player but he's not worth the cap hit. JP is a big power forward that has been playing very well overseas this season. If the hawks can get him playing to his potential, the trade would be a steal

That's a big "if". He hasn't shown anything at the NHL level yet which is why he isn't worth giving up Saad and especially not with a pick. Saad is worth $4.5m to $5M but even at a $6M cap hit for this season and next, he's a very good 2 way top 9 player, pool party is an experiment.
