We would only be taking players with 2 years or less remaining before we have to sign everyone. And the incentive would have to be there to take them

Toronto is full, Ottawa next logical choice for all these Ontario boys that want to go home is, pietreangelo a Ontario boy, instant cap floor, got his ring, perfect chance for home and overpayment in Ottawa, new owner make a splash

I dont think so. What I would do if im Ottawa is acquire another 2020 1st by taking a bad contract and trading Tierney (will have 5 top 40 pick)
Pull off two trades, one to get a young RHD (AKA someone on the level of a Pesce/Carlo or soon to be), and 2 a top 6 winger/centre depends if we get a centre or winger with our pick (someone like Ehlers or Tuch if we draft Byfield/Perfetti) or someone like Patrick/Necas if we draft Lafreniere/Raymond/Holtz. Im not talking about trading for those players more like a guy in the same situation and level as those or with that potential

Brandon Dubinsky has a nice fat juicy one-year contract that the Jackets could sell if the price is right. How about a 7th for Dubi & a 3rd?

I dont think a 3rd is enough compensation to take anyone. There has to be a 2nd rounder at least for any cap dump that has a contract beyond this year

I for one fail to see how it is cap circumvention when your Injured Reserve cap hit is higher than your Defense cap hit.

i think OTT will re-sign Brown, Duclair and DeMelo, most likely Pageau or Tierny.

Brown and Duclair have been playing well so far and DeMelo is OTT best RD right now.
