Thank you for stating the two things I was hoping someone would state.

Minnesota is the only team without anything close to a first center in the mid term. They need a 1C. Backstrom has no desire to finish his career on a team like this. If not washington, the fight to get him on MIN will have to require an overpay, thus ruining this team long term for a few years more of his late-prime.

Of all the Wild forwards to give away, Foligno is the last one the should be considered! In fact, he would bring a solid return if he was to be shopped...he’s been their best forward this season.
