To get Nyllander- any team will have to overpay because he is a top 6 F, with ability to play C...that said- the 3 players mentioned is WAY too much of an overpay...It's gonna be interesting though- if Nyllander is a player the Leafs choose to move- they will certainly look for a ransom...but don't think other teams don't realize that next summer TOR will be bent over a barrel again- 4 of their D are UFA after this year...also at least 1 RFA (of players I figure would be in their plans)...yet only 15M in cap space (ok- a little more because the cap will go a bit higher). Right now I would consider Skjei + Anderson to be a fair starting point for a trade between Leafs and Rangers.

My thinking was that quite honestly, Skjei has not been good the past couple of seasons and this may be a blessing in disguise if he continues to regress, DeAngelo is a stud but doesn't fit on NYR roster (behind Trouba and Fox), and jury is still out on Chytil. So essentially, it's two risks and a top 4 D (DeAngelo) for a second-line center and a 5th round pick. Seems better for the Rangers imo.

As a Rangers fan, I'd much rather Andersson over Chytil. But either way, Tony D is expendable, and why not use his high value when you can? Also, Skjei is bad and will only get worse most likely.

Skjei has struggled since he signed his contract...but I still think if he's in the right defensive system he can be pretty good- at least a 2nd pair, #3 or #4 D...Ruff's defensive system gives up the Blue Line then allows all hell to break loose when they get pinned in their own end for stretches...with the forwards more intent on looking for "homerun passes" than assisting the D men...in any case- Skjei's resume is what it is- and unfortunately that's what you have to attach his value to...As far as ADA...he has his own defensive issues- probably much the same reason as Skjei...but he at least has some big offensive upside...and since the Rangers have Fox- he is somewhat expendable.
