Contending this year

Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Team Explanation
Some trades to be made to contend long term. Some are painful but needed. This would be the Jets after the trade deadline. Assuming Buff comes back (I'm an optimist here) and retires after his contract is up. This essentially is a re tool of the Jets to give Little, Buff, Wheeler their last shots at the cup before they might retire or go past their prime. This is a long term outlook for the Jets as well. This includes exposing Little at the expansion draft to sign Nuge long term. It's using one year' entire draft picks essentially to win the cups. The Jets are currently winning games and they still legitimate contenders. We add some grit for a playoff run. A lot of the future is indeed mortgaged for this years cup run. However, many of them have no place on the top 6 and thereby are expendable.

They're not ( sjs) making the playoffs this year. Even with that elite defense.

1st of all. Can’t get samberg. He’s already back to college. 2nd, moving roslovic is the dumbest thing we could do. Plus I don’t really think Gardner pionk would play well together. 3rd, I like our forward group better now when healthy than this, besides maybe Nuge at 2c. That would be something I’d still look at. Although I wouldn’t be giving up what you did haha.

Signing Thorburn to make the team a "contender" and then actually playing him on the 4th line... ?
