Description
Finally, called time and time again that he needs to play more and it wouldnt happen with Leafs.

The 3rd pair minutes Sandin was getting was not helping him develop.

I want them to try Gravel and Holl together.

If he was a RHD, would they have sent him down?

If he needed more minutes then he was getting, yes.

Sorry Trickster, your logic doesn't meet the facts . Sandin played six games with the Leafs. The Marlies have played just three games . Having Sandin starting the season with the Leafs he got more playing minutes than if he had been with the Marlies.
Now maybe you're right....now he will getting more ice time with the Marlies than he would with the Leafs. But it's not like this two week experiment with the big club, hindered his development or his on ice minutes.

I don't think these games Sandin got with the Leafs was a development hindrance (well hopefully not) but to think he would develop playing 3rd pairing minutes...I don't believe that.

He's played one year of pro hockey and at least for the rest of this year Sandin needs top minutes to continue with that. I am not a believer in thinking you learn and develop whole lot while sitting on the bench...so as far as I'm concerned this is the best course of action.
Trickster liked this.

Never thought about it before but the reason you stated is the ONLY reason to start him with the Leafs.
