have the rookies develop in Laval

Created by: MTLaveragefan

Description
Let the players develop properly under Bouchard, and let's give Bouchard the tools to make them learn on a winning team. If you look at the AHL line up, you can see them win the Calder with such a team. Its harder to learn if you don't win, and don't make the playoffs.

KK plays 12min per game if he is lucky... no PP no PK, you don't develop a #1 center by playing him like a 3rd liner. Let him burn the AHL, let him get confidence in his great shot, and skill.

CJ has put Suzuki on the 4th line, at the wing, let him play center in LAVAL, let him make mistake in the AHL, let him learn. Don't take away his confidence by calling him out in front of the press...

Mete is playing on his heels on the first line, he is doing a good job... but it is not the right chair for his development, and Weber is not as efficient when you have to always look over your shoulder to see where the kid is. Otto Leskinen is good enough to play with Weber, he is a great skater and has a good first pass.

Cale Fleury is good, but what message do you send him when you bench him after one mistake... let him learn some more in the AHL, make him play top minutes.

Bring Hudon up, he played great in Camp, he can bring a lot of offense.

Put Drouin - Domi - Armia together, they are bound to explode

Sign Boyle for our PP and PK, big guy can protect our players and play big in front of the Net. Great leadership as well. Brings size into the lineup for the playoffs.

Trade for JP, one B+ and one B prospect and 2 second-round picks should do the job. He can find chemistry with another Finnish player in KK, He'll feel more at home in Montreal, and it's European feel. (also we have a big Finnish core)

Kotkaniemi with Drouin has been working, so leave that alone and let him continue to play. Suzuki going down I agree with, would want him playing on Poehlings right wing though, them developing chemistry would be the best possible scenario to eventually move them into the NHL together.

That's also a big over pay for Pool Party, I know he is playing well in Liiga right now but that many assets for him isnt necessary

I think Poolparty could be a good bet but for McShane and two 2nd round picks? No thanks

In the AHL, the line is blurred between the first line and the 3rd line, Bouchard can have them split 60 min, It's not the NHL where you play the first line all the time, Bouchard can roll the line, put them in offensive and defensive position ect...

Suzuki is not fast enough to be a winger in MTL's system, He could be a center doh, He is better than KK at center.

For JP, I don't think the Oiler would let him go unless it's a great package,

really? its not like the Oilers have the leverage now, the guys explicitly said he wants out of EDM. two 2nd is pretty good... also a bit too much considering the drafting by MTL in the last 3 years, they have invested in scouting and it shows.

Oilers have all the leverage, PP can’t sign with any NHL team. If he wants to play in the NHL and a team wants him they will have to meet EDM demands. Holland has said their preference is to keep him and sign him, they would listen to offers but are not trading him just to trade him, they’d have to get something they want.

Names that have been mentioned were Klim Kostin, Julian Gauthier, Alexander Volkov in 1 for 1 deals. Some say Oilers declined them others say there was never an official offer made. Rumors have been swirling about Gauthier again after a strong camp.

Habs have done a fantastic job of drafting the last 2 years. They are going to have a deep prospect pool to pull from after a few years of being pretty shallow. Bergevin and crew should be commended for the job they did,

I know JP can't sign anywhere (except offersheets), but KH has an asset that doesn't want to contribute to your team. I also understand why he didn't trade one underperforming rookie for another... the names you got out are not breaking anything.

Shallow? You mean dried up hahaah
