I think you get to retain money on 2 or 3 transactions maximum. I would love for the wild to blow it up, as it means easier playoffs for my Hawks, so by all means go ahead.

Hmm didn't realize that, good to know. Quick search says it's 3 as the max.

I would love for Buffalo to do this trade in a heartbeat and let Zuccarello pass the puck to Skinner all day... However I don't think they would, only because Sobotka is gone at the end of this year and we have prospects to replace him. Whereas if Zucc falls off the table his contract is gonna be an Okposo-esque anchor on the team when it comes to cap space.

Too bad the owner doesn't want to have a losing season again and the GM is convinced we are talented enough to win a cup... lmao this franchise is such a joke. We are doomed with perpetual mediocrity.

So they should trade for Taylor Hall?

I don't even think adding Taylor Hall will help save this team. He'd want out after a year anyways.

Edit: so basically we'd give up an arm and a leg to get him only to have him walk in a year. That would only doom us with more perpetual mediocrity.

Oh he won't sign an extension. I don't know if he'd be enough to get the Wild into the playoffs but he has dragged a bad team to the post-season before

See my edit. He might be enough to get us there but there's no chance in hell we have a good enough roster to win it all. We'd just be throwing away picks/prospects that we can't afford to lose for another year of losing in the first or second round. I'd rather just tank and try to land a top 5-10 pick.

I agree. They shouldn't trade for Hall, they should start rebuilding but we both know it won't happen. Question is, what will they do?

Moving Parise will be tough...his contract runs until he's 40 at north of 7...OUCH. Zuaarello and Rask are also tough contracts. They should build a core around Dumba, Eriksson Ek, Fiala, SPurgeon and Brodin
Finding homes for Koivu, Staal and Dubnyk shouldnt be that hard and their return would be decent and it would make the wild pretty terrible.

Probably do something stupid and trade for Hall or something, lmao. The owner wants to win now and the GM he hired believes we can with this team so I'm expecting us to go "all-in" this year only to go belly up in the playoffs.

Fun Fact of the day: The wild cost themselves a top 3 pick last year by dropping their final five games of the season. Chicago and Minnesota swapped places on the final day of the regular season with a win and loss respectively.

Imagine how different the future would look if you had a chance to draft number 3. Now you guys are painfully mediocre and lack direction, and you don't have a high end prospect to justify it!

Don't remind me, I remember having that exact same thought when Chicago won their lottery pick. Y'all are gunna do it again this year, just watch. The Wild always get ****ed by Chicago, lmao.
