Growing Sense of Optimism

Team Explanation
Getting Buff and Little back in the lineup would take a lot of pressure off the depth players. I see each player in this lineup playing at their potential with the exception of Copp who might be more realistically an above average third liner. I'd really like to see Roslovic grow into that 2C spot this season as I feel he has a higher ceiling than Copp. By the end of the season, I'd really like to see:

Laine-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Roslovic-Ehlers
Perreault-Copp-Little
Bourque-Lowry-Appleton

If Sami Niku proves capable of playing opposite Buff, this would be a very strong contender again.

Don't expect Buff to come back the same player. With the extended time off and already questioning whether he wants to even play again you have to wonder how engaged he will be and how much work he really put in this off season to ensure that he would be ready if he was contemplating not even coming back at all.

I'm unsure of what Niku did to lose favour with Maurice. He is way better at zone exits than Bitetto who continues to get starts in his place.

A 75% Byfuglien is still a great thing to have. Buff has always played a selective game. If the Jets only played on HNIC with national coverage, Buff would have 80+ points and 300 PIMs. Bring him back slowly so that he is healthy for any potential spring run the Jets may have.
