I wanted Spurg before he signed that contract. Now the Wild can keep him for all I care.
Also why would you trade Nylander? Him and Papi are a perfect pair as they make each other better and Nylander's contract looks better day-by-day.
You also badly overpaid.

Pietro is decently likely to go to FA (by NHL standards), no reason the Leafs wouldn't be one of his first options.

While I'll support any motion to stop these posts about the Leafs signing Pietrangelo, your statement is a weird takeaway from this terrible trade. But then again, you are definitely not a guy who chirps every Leaf post on here, definitely not a troll.

I have an AGM where I (barely) make it work in an 82.5 million cap. Considering the league is talking 84.5 with no NHLPA inflator to limit escrow, I think we are fine.

I'd honestly do Spurgeon for Nylander straight up. This team severely lacks talent up front and I have seen Nylander do well at center. Doubt the Leafs do it, though. Spurgeon is signed for 2-3 years too many.

Are the Leafs really better? Pietrngelo, and Spurgeon but Nylander and Kapanen deleted. Now you're filling two full time spots with Petan and Shore. Yuck.

Agree with Random2152 about the long term contract Spurgeon...not that appealing.
