there is no way this team sits Lafferty at this point.
Kahun will sit before him.

There’s probably gonna be a trade or two involving a forward once everyone is healthy. I saw something that said teams would take Johnson or Gudbranson if they got Riikola or another asset in return. I could see Kahun getting moved in one of those scenarios since he’s still young and would be of value to teams. I feel like it’s not working with him because he’s kind of a waste on the fourth line but there’s no room for him in the lineup elsewhere.

at some point you have to make your own breaks and kick the door down. Lafferty has done that, Kahun has not. It's not about being on the 4th line. Lafferty was on the 4th line too.

I get Kahun, he's a different kind of player. He seems more like a Simon type guy who wants to drive possession not necessarily score a ton. The last game he had an 80% corsi.
Given it's a outlier but it kind of shows how he plays. However, you have to net goals if you want to stick in the NHL. Possession in itself doesn't win games, and that there in lies the problem.
He hasn't made those breaks. I think it really tells you something about how fast as a team the penguins are. He looks average out there, but that's because players like Tanev, McCann, Rust, AG, Jake and Lafferty are all so damn fast. It makes it really hard for him to get noticed and be the hard guy to deal with on the ice.
