What are you stuck in 1999? Speed is king in the modern NHL, also Gally plays like he's the biggest guy on the ice. I hope he's a Hab for life.
that's not true at all. You have to be able to battle for a puck and small wingers become useless. We saw that with Sheary, when he slumped he couldn't even stick on the 4th line.
TB saw it last year got shoved all over the ice.
It's still a physical game.

Playing with the likes of Crosby and Malkin and Galchenuk reunited Gallagher would score 40 -50. That's fine MTL keeps him for sure anyhow on a great contract too. WOW!
See I don't believe that at all. Malkin and Galchenuk is the exact reason this team brought in Tanev. Then needed a fast player who could battle on the boards and play the defensive role. Gallagher isn't going to do that. They need players like that on lines to go into the dirty areas. Play hard nosed and get the puck. Those are facts of life.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you there...Gallagher’s size shouldn’t matter in today’s NHL and he always plays big. On top of that this trade would give the lineup so much more balance with a speedy winger on every line. I think bergevin is crazy enough to bite on Hornqvist and that helps the Penguins cause even more. So if this were to come up in a trade negotiation the Penguins should take it and run.
I don't live in that pc world. Playing big means nothing, he's not, he doesn't have the strength. You put him on lines that already have shooters on it and what you end up with is an unbalanced line. Sid's got Jake, Malkin has AG. They need fast guys who can support and get the puck and help defensively. At no point does he go on one of those top two lines and rack up 30 goals. We already know Jake and Sid are going to get the majority on line 1, and on line 2 you are looking at Malkin and AG. That's why they brought him in. And you put him on that line and you got 3 guys who really don't play defense and won't retrieve the puck. That would be a cluster F and they would break that up in no time.
At most he'd get 3rd line minutes. He wouldn't really get offensive zone starts. He'd have a sort of defensive role to play on the 3rd line as the 1st and 2nd line are gonna get the vast majority or Ozone starts and that really isn't his role.
So I don't see him getting 30 goals here. In MTL he's one of their better offensive weapons. Here he isn't even top 3.
I'm not saying he's a bad player, I'm not saying the price is to high.
I'm saying it's not a good fit. The first line needs a bigger body player or at least one who can be physical considering both Crosby and Jake aren't really big players.
And the second line needs a guy who is disruptive and can get the puck.
