Description
Change of scenery for both Saad and Hall, NJ gets a nice d-man to pair with Subban, Chi gets a true first liner to have Hall-Toews-Kane, or rock out with Hall-Toews-Shaw and have Kane with Cat and Strome.

This probably isn't enough, I can almost guarantee, but its just something I came up with on the spot. Thoughts?

So you're giving up Saad (who's playing lights out), Gus (a 60 point D guy but rental), a 1st, a conditional 1st, and a 3rd round pick for Hall is a rental and UFA? That's not underpayment, that's overpayment by the Hawks.

@ChiHawk you are right this is probably an overpayment.

Saad has looked greats far, it would be interesting to give him a shot with Toews or Kane but that third line has played well why mess with it. Plus it gives the team a little bit more balance and potentially gets Strome and Cat away from the other teams top line.

Toews looks like he is over thinking every play, and Kane looks uninterested because he isn't with Strome and Cat.

Even without the top two guys playing like they should, Chicago has been close in every game.

I know you said you were just doing this because every other ACGM is doing it, but I wouldn't rush to make a move yet. Wait to see what the team looks like after Toews and Kane hit their stride.

How is Kane not playing like he should? He has 5 points in 4 games. 2 goals, 3 assists. That's exactly what Kane does. Extrapolate that out over a whole season and that's 100 point pace.

Goals and assists are sexy but Kane hasn’t been the dominate Kane we are used too.

In what capacity is he not dominating?

Like I said in the originally post he looks disinterested at times. I’ve watch most of every game so far and he hasn’t been the one driving the line.

Almost every guy in the league would take 5 points in the first 4 games. Kane has 8 shots on net so far, using your theory that puts him on pace for 164 shots compared to the 341 he put up last year.

All I’m saying is Kane can and will bring so much more offensively, and when he does it will be fun to watch.

This is an opinion statement. I was hoping for some stats to back up your claim that he’s not playing well. Possession numbers. Corsi. Etc.

Isn’t that was this website is all about, opinions and ideas.

Last year was the first time his Corsi was below 50.8 his entire career. To start the season he is 42.0, Kane has always been the guy that makes his line mates better. Using the eyeball test and not advanced metrics he hasn’t done that through the first 4 games. His corsi is a small example of that, his line has give up 58 to 42 corsi for, they aren’t creating shots. Corsi isn’t something the average fan understands which is why I didn’t use the metrics.

This is my last post about this. All I was saying is Sasd has looked strong this first few games, And when Towes and Kane are in mid season form the Blackhawks can probably roll out three lines that can be dangerous.
