This is a very good idea. I like the outline of the trade. Just be careful about trading away the Canadiens' 2020 draft picks, with the draft in Montreal this June.

It's most likely Dillon mtl is looking at, since MEV contract is almost unmovable.

If MTL does trade for Vlasic (which I highly doubt) SJ would have to take Alzner IMO for the cap to make sense.

Also would not move Kulak, he and Petry have been the best pair since being put together last season.

Tbh I'm not quite sure how SJ would benefit from moving Vlasic, they'd likely get lesser players while not really saving much cap in most situations.

We save a ton of future money and can gain some draft picks we are missing, as well as hopefully getting a depth winger

What would they pay for Dillon? Doubt any MTL fans would be happy with Dougs ask

Doesn't that make SJ weaker in the short term though? With guys like Couture, Karlsson, Burns, Thornton and Marleau in their 30's? As well as Hertl, Labanc, Meier and Dillon in or nearing their prime. Shouldn't they go all-in instead of worrying about future cap and picks?

Well even if we gain cap here, it gives us more space to grab a guy like Dadonov or Hall at the deadline

Vlassic could be a very good partner for Josh Brook
