He is better than Marincin, Harpur or anybody else and they wont play Sandin there.. it wouldve been Sandin or Kivihalme if it would be on me with Gravel being the reserve of the reserves..

Although this works on paper and @csick gets a good return as suggested for Ottawa, looking at this now, Tierney left SJS in a big part due to him growing out of a bottom line role and I’d say he’s almost top 6/ just leaving bottom 6. He wouldn’t want to play bottom line for the leafs with 0 pp time clearly unless rotated in, and maybe some PK time. I think it works in theory but Tierney would ask to not be traded to Toronto due to it being a step backwards for him, him and his agent would likely ask for it not happen (it’s not like they have power but they may just ask for anywhere else that has top 6/ middle 6 room)

Marincin is slightly better imo, plus Captain Mike is in love with him

It really doesn't matter what he wants, he doesn't have a no trade and doesn't carry the star pedigree to even make a request like that

Edited my comment to state that prior to this comment. But yes a player can ask, just like how many times in the past out respect or relation a GM try’s to help a player and the team rather than toss the player into a grinder. Its got nothing to do with NMC or pedigree as obvious but it hurts Tierney and could just hurt the team that looks for him to play bottom time when he should play more than that, I’d the leafs are looking for a bottom player, Tierney isn’t that

Yeah plus I wonder how Kerfoot would do on the wing if he were moved. Tierney is a great setup guy and putting him next to someone with a good shot is the best thing

HE does not have the star power or no-trade clause to oppose this trade. Also with Leafs.. he would have opportunity to eat opposite 4 lines with that line and top PK minutes as well.

I clearly said he doesn’t have power to control anything, I just suggested it could come up. Never said it holds value

regardless of star power. in a contract year... you really think this guy or his agent wont publicly state they do not wish to be traded to toronto. Ceci is just a cap dump for every toronto trade scenario. this is essentially bracco and a 2nd for demelo and tierney. I think the senators could get a better offer than this from a true center needy team.
