Leafs. An NHL coach. Babcock likes coaching Team Canada. That should be only contact with pro hockey players.

I think Hanifin has boosted his value even in the first few games here, he is playing lights out D with Hamonic and looks light years better than he did last year. If Hanifin and Hamonic want they can be the 2nd pairing for the Flames for however long Hamonic's next contract is.

Valimaki - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Giordano - Yelesin/UFA

I just don't see either of them moving for a long time, I mentioned above how I would like to see the Flames pairings to look in the next 3 - 5 years!

Some other targets i would like us to go after:
- TyJo (if hr is willing to waive ofc)
- Danault
- Trocheck (unlikely but Florida has a lot of center prospects)

Danault would be nice but he's not worth giving up Hanifin for. Hanifin has really stepped up his game this year and is starting to look like that top 10 dradt pick ww traded for. If he continues to trend like this his contract will start to look like a sweetheart deal and is long term. Danault is certainly on my radar but i consider him quite similar to Kadri in terms of what he brings and will provide. Therefore im not really willing to pay more then what we traded for him (that he nixed), Brodie + Jankowski.

I know you jest, but Flames have zero interest in Little, he is ot an upgrade to Backlund as 2C. Unless ehlers/ Roslovic are on the table Flames - Jays dont really make good trading partners.

I have to argue a little bit here boys. Your comments are all accurate, but you seem to slighty undervalue Danault here. He's only 26 and he's getting better every year. He maintains over 50% in faceoff win while being in top 10 for faceoff taken. IMO, top 4 D vs top 6 forward is something really arguable.

By 26-28 a player has generally reached their limit of growth, at least for forwards. Sure he probably is improving defensively but is about at his peak for potential. Hanafin is still only 22 and defense tend to bloom later.

Hanifin is also locked up for 5 years on a less than 5M contract and hes starting to look like a 6M player. Versus Danault's 2 years left.
