Watching the Hawks, I think Saad has been the best Hawk on the ice to this point. Who knows his value in two years. That first round draft pick may be the persuasion to get Bowman to make a deal. I think it would be an over payment on playoff rental.

If Chicago feels Saad can be a core player after 21-22 season, and if the two sides can agree to term & salary, then Saad may be offered an extension. A lot of hockey before that time.

Though I agree, Saad would be an excellent addition to the Blues. I don’t know, would the Blues and Hawks make a deal?

You're right still a lot of time between now and then. Even if Hawks traded him they could still get him back via FA. Yes it is an overpayment for a rental play, but that was my point. To help persuade Bowman to do it and retain salary for a few months. Completely worth it in my opinion.

GM’s are pretty creative. There would be moves at the start of the season, or at the TDL to make this deal and be cap compliant. The cap should be higher in two years as well. I don’t think cap would be a stumbling block. St.Louis and Chicago are such rivals, I don’t think they would deal with each other.

It litterally means extra cap space for a deadline rental and bigger roster size.... Yeah that's pretty pointless.

If the return is good then yes. Kings and Sharks are huge rivals and have made many trades.

It must not be if they’re making trades with each other
