Ducks decline. They are an ideal trade partner. But I can’t see them trading Ritchie for him.

I saw something that said buffalo was going to start listening to trade offers on defenseman other than Ristolainen. Are there any defenseman Buffalo would want to move even a guy that might be trapped in the AHL?

I agree...I saw something on here involving Ritchie and figured I’d try it. I’d honestly just take a 6th round pick and run at this point just to have the cap space.

Unless he's playing extremely well, I'd think Scandella would be the guy they prefer to move since he's on an expiring deal and will be a UFA.

Ehh...that would pretty much put the penguins back in the situation they’re desperately trying to get out of lol.

Exactly, i think something like Janicke or Berkovitz or Francis and 6th would benefit both teams.

Well i think they might be shopping bogo and possibly scandella. However idk what return they would be able to get for them

They don't need the cap space right now. Keep the depth until the end of the season.

I think it would probably be best to move someone out this season simply because carrying 9 D isn’t normal and neither is having a defenseman play the wing because you have no cap space to bring up a forward.

There’s been reports saying teams are willing to take on JJ or Gudbranson if it means they get Juuso Riikola. Friedman has gone on record of saying MTL has checked in on Riikola. I’m just kinda doing it by process of elimination.

They don't have many forwards left to bring up. At least not any that would make any type of meaningful impact. They can clear up cap space at the end of the season. Moving someone out now just for cap space seems silly. Moving someone now and getting a reasonable return along with cap space would make some sense.

I very much doubt that anyone would want Riikola that much but thanks for the explanation. smile

That’s true...I’m really banking on Minnesota continuing to slide because finding a way to get Jonas Brodin would be ideal since he can play both sides. Brodin would play left side this year and then be the Schultz replacement after Schultz leaves in free agency.

We shall see...crazier things have happened. I’m expecting JJ or Gudbranson to be moved somewhere at some point this season.
