Good 4th line center on a team that could use a veteran depth player... And a useful one at that.

I don't know how I feel about this one. I got nothing against him. But I don't really want to see him come back if they are using him in a sort of enforcer type role. I'd rather just see him stay retired at that rate.
If he's there just to play hockey, he's kind of slow for today's game. Even 4th lines are getting faster.

For that price he's worth it even if he's just your 13th forward. He can still hang as an NHL 4th liner and he brings a lot of playoff experience to a team who as a whole lack a lot of playoff experience.

It sucks that he's getting the spot over Borgstrom, but it's great to see him get another chance. Go Boyle!

Shouldn't the cap hit be higher because it was signed after the season started?

Well with Barkov out 2-3 weeks they say I guess they wanted another option up the middle and Coach Q doesn’t seem to favor Borgstrom much with his lineup and just the way he talks about his game tone wise in interviews

He scored 18 goals last season!!! He can play in all situations. How is this anything but a good signing?

Only RFA's ! The cap hit doesn't change for a UFA

What a total steal. He’s still very much relevant as a commanding force on special teams and in being a veteran centre or winger on a 4th line. Bravo Florida.

I agree. I wanted to see Borgstrom take the next step. But, there's a lot of pressure on this team to win now. They need to be a playoff team this season after the big moves they've made.

Boyle adds bottom 6 depth and playoff experience to a team that badly needs it. They get a good guy on a great deal at <$1M.
