if edm won the 2016 lottery

Description
the point of this is to see what would of happened cap wise if Edmonton had won the 2016 lottery.
this is the cheapest I could make the roster and I am still over the cap, my guess is if the oilers had won this lottery they would have to either: trade kassian for a cheaper option, give up a first to calgary so edm doesn't have to retain salary or find someone to take gagner. Buying out neal or gagner would also be an option.

Getting the best player 3 years in a row would certainly create a fantastic team... what if, in addition to winning the lottery, they had kept Hall and not have made the disastrous Reinhart trade in 2015?

*adds Taylor Hall, Mathew Barzal and Brandon Carlo, stands back and gasps*

Sums up the pretty much every team, especially Toronto.

Yup. But no Neal (the Lucic signing only happened when Hall was traded) and no Larsson (Hall trade reversed), so that's $10M saved. Barzal is still on his ELC, and several Chiarelli-inspired overpays wouldn't exist. Of course, next summer would see Hall leave to make room for Barzal's next deal ...

So was that the only year Edmonton didn't win the lottery?

Old joke. Since 2012 Edmonton has picked 1st just once. Once in seven years.

I was trying to be funny and I hope you didn't take offense to that. Edmonton hired a GM who thought he was a lot better than he was. That is nothing fans or players should be offended by.
