Hey- why not? Just another irrational decision in a year of such!
And further the goal of bottom 3...thereby ensuring a top 5 pick- with a good shot at #1

Honestly... this team is reminiscent of the Tom Renney Rangers-- incredibly soft on the puck

If it gets us Lafreniere, I'm not complaining. But you see by teams like Toronto and Tampa that skill alone does not win the Cup. It's teams like Boston, Washington, St Louis-- teams that have a combination of skill + grit that win... think about the last rangers team that made it to the ECF/SCF.. they played a hard system where they won puck battles to get the puck out of the defensive zone and actually had a fore-check. Rangers need to find players that are good and not afraid to take the body.. Andersson deserves more of a role as he does that consistently and works hard. I honestly wouldn't refrain from making these lines

Kreider-Zibanejad-Buchnevich -- proven to work
Panarin-Andersson-Kakko -- Panarin brings out the best in players, look at PLD in columbus, maybe he can do the same with Andersson and Kakko. Putting panarin on line 2 isn't ideal, but KZB is a proven line that works, we need to find another way to spread out the offense

was with you all the way until that 4th line...Smith is not a forward- Mckegg, Nieves, Lettieri...anybody who has a little bit of puck skill- Lettieri plays aggressively and also at least has a quick shot...Smith brings NOTHING except reassurance to 2nd PK...if that's the case then either dress him as 7D or send either Hajek or Fox down to be replaced by a D (Lindgren??) who is more trusted defensively.
