you sounded like you had a point then completely destroyed it with your closing remark
Alex is playing on 4th line vs bottom 6 players

Byron scores 20 goals a year from 4th line based on the same concept
be faster then all the grit guys with low end skill .
Poehling scored 3 goals and a shootout winner from 4th line last year
he's in the AHL this year developing by playing increased ice time to improve his stamina

once he plays head to head top 6 like his brother you'll see the exact same production
that being said i think Alex is the better Goal scorer but not the better forward.

The Hawks better bump Nylander up in the lineup as you suggest. Looks like the fifth place Hawks need a productive forward.

Interesting that you think that being on the 4th line somehow makes it easier to score. Your primary reason for this is saying that the 4th line is against lesser competition, and while that may be true you forget other factors. The first I would mention is TOI... I dont know this for a fact, but I would think William Nylander is getting top 6 minutes in Toronto. The difference between Top 6 and 4th line minutes is incredible, especially for top heavy teams. The second I would mention is the Quality of Linemates as far as offensive production. Nylander aught to be playing with AM or JT (before JT was hurt), and those two are arguably a slight upgrade from Ryan Carpenter.

Just a "eye ball" thought on Leafs Willi Nylander. To me he should score more goals....but maybe he never will. He just seems to be missing that something around the net that propels him from an average goal scorer to good/very good goal scorer.
