Description
Call up Kravtsov, Chytil and Shesterkin for the week... you can swap kakko and kravtsov if you would like.. i just think Kakko is skating a little slow, maybe he's a bit tired from practices and too much ice time? Also, Kravtsov is russian so maybe playing with panarin could help him as they speak the same language and play a similar style. Andersson deserves a larger look, he's played very well in his limited amount of ice time with an AHL defenseman (smith ) and a player that belongs in the ECHL (Haley). Playing with Lemieux and Kakko could give the rangers a young solid 3rd line that plays physical. All three like to cycle and grind it out

i was at the vancouver game and strome gave the puck to the other team 4 times on one shift.. it looks like we got the edmonton version of him this year, but he doesn't deserve more than 4th line minutes at the moment. Howden hasn't been absolutely horrid but he hasn't been good. Andersson deserves more than him and Chytil deserves a crack at #2, pushing Howden down to fourth line. Fast is Fast and will be good in any role, just so happens it's the 4th line in this test

Staal was Staal again, the traffic cone that he is. Give Lindgren some time in the NHL and let Staal take a break for a game or two.. he and Skjei can alternate as Skjei also needs a fire under his @$$

It's a great idea, but DQ doesn't have too many of those unfortunately

yeah i'm not a crazy ranger fan that wants them to make the playoffs this year.. they need to develop and even though all three should be sent down to the AHL again (unless they are absolutely fire), they need to focus on giving them a few games when they can in the NHL.. it's literally the perfect time since they don't play for another week and the rangers have two games this week against Arizona (meh team) and Buffalo (weirdly inconstant team but are playing well right now)

I know this is anti-fan of me, but I hope they miss the playoffs honestly. Have the kids go to Hartford and contend for a Calder Cup, draft high (Byfield?) and hit the ground running next season.

love the idea! So that said, sure that it will be a nonstarter with JG and DQ....I might actually set the lines up a little differently- but any situation which gets Smith, Staal, and Haley off the ice I am all for.

i'm all for that as well-- normal people understand the rangers window to be a legitimate contender doesn't open until the 2021-22 season at the earliest and that's if everything goes right with prospect development for Miller, Lundkvist, Fox, Chytil, Andesson, Kravtsov, Kakko and whoever we get next year. If we can get Lafreniere, Byfield, or one of the other top prizes of next years draft, we will have that much more of an advantage. I'm also saying trade Skjei for another mid 1st rounder this year as Hajek and Lindgren are solid and we have Miller who is potential top line. Saves 5m in salary too

We think alike! I've been saying for a year now they a Skjei trade needs to happen, and I believe it will within a year or two. I think Miller is going to be a stud, I just hope he doesn't finish college (selfishly want him to join the Rangers asap). And Matthew Robertson and Yegor Rykov are solid LD prospects as well, I think Skjei is very expendable and they should trade him now (it feels like he's slowly regressing).
