“More quality” you say???
Cozens & TWO 1sts is an enormous offer for someone of PK88s age and contract
And McCabe is a solid top4 defenseman
And Thompson is a decent prospect
Keith has no value with that contract, same as Okposo

Sabres are giving up TOO MUCH in this deal imo

I see where you’re coming from here,
but this is a terrible idea

Do these moves make us a legit Cup Contender?
I believe they do not

I think it’s trying to rush things
Although it would be pretty fun to have PK88

Two late first rounders are nice, but they are just late first rounders at the end of the day. These don’t fit into our plans to compete now, and they probably don’t turn out to be impact players.

Cozens is a great prospect but we have many good young center prospects, and Toews isn’t getting moved in this scenario.

Kane is a top 5 talent in the league and he will be great for many years due to his play style, there’s no way the hawks move him to begin with. Even if this were some alternate reality where we would move Kane it wouldn’t be for this package.. lots of stuff coming back, but it does little for us in the short term or immediate future. (Which we plan to contend in)

Keith >>>> Okposo and it’s neither close, nor debatable. Keith is still a workhorse and his contract his fair for what he brings.

Tage Thompson is hardly a prospect any more. The guy has Bust written all over him, and while he may be young enough to turn it around he hardly moves the needle.

If the Hawks are to trade PK88,
then they have given up on their “plans to compete”

And Cozens & two 1sts would be an excellent return

Cozens is a good prospect, but the hawks do have plans to compete, and won’t trade Kane. Even if they were, we have the foundation needed to compete shortly and trading Kane for Cozens and two low odds lottery tickets is not something the hawks would consider. That is discounting Keith for Okposo swap which is terrible by itself.

I’ll phrase it like this
The hawks don’t accept this trade because it wouldn’t make sense for them. However I will validate that that is a good enough package (minus Keith and Okposo) for some other high end player in the league.

No one is going to trade to get Okposo, with that contract it's just not logical

Okposo is elite and world fetch far more than that crap package. To Chicago Okposo to Buffalo Kane, Toews and Shaw plus two firsts easy.

Okposo is A. cap dump B. Literally the only piece not to focus on C. One of the NHL leaders in Fenwick and Corsi currently anyway, so he would still add to Chicagos roster. I cant tell if you 2 are trolling or just $tupid.

Trade is bad, it ruins buffalos future as we probably have to get rid of some really good players later on.

Thompson came to camp completely shredded and is tearing it up in the AHL. Sabres fans are praying someone takes out Sobotka's knees so we can call him up but thats not how Botts operates, Botts wants to develop him and get his confidence up. Cozens maybe end up being a RWer, hes not just a center prospect. Okposo is not as bad as people want him to be. Hes one of the league leaders in Fenwick and Corsi and is on the Sabres best 5v5 line. Kane is great and its sad that he'll never wear a Sabre jersey, but dont just make up stuff because you dont think the deal is plausible

Yeah no...

If you dont want to give up quality, you arent going to get quality back. This is especially true in a deal like this.

It is quality, i just told you that. Cozens and the picks alone are too much but then on top of that another top 6 forward prospect a much younger top 4 dman, then Okposo to even out the cap who will still put up decent numbers for Keith who has hit his plateau and this may be his last decent year or 2 and as I said Kane who is great, but gives you significantly less time as an elite forward than Cozens will. Itd be stupid for Buffalo to do this. As I said not plausible, but Buffalo still loses bad

No thanks , Patrick does not do well in Buffalo . Too many bad influences around him . Also why deal the future. Rebuild is finally coming together . Why mortgage it for a quick fix.

Still far too much for him and that salary would hand cuff the team in the future. Why gut the future ? Do not have to bring every local hero home.

Sabres dont want to trade him right now BRO and as I said hes not who youre trading for BRO. Youre trading for the 3 other NHLers and 2 first rounders BRO. Do you understand BRO, its not complex BRO. The Sabres cant take 17 mill cap hit from Chicago BRO they need to send salary back too BRO
