Tbh Wrong, you can't. Everyone telling us "Oh he is making 9 Million" ain't no one in the League about to trade for a guy who wants 9 Million for FIVE YEARS to a 30 Year old. He is also Average on defense and above average on Offense. He isnt even the best on the team for us, so this is basically what we are looking at if we get anything out of him. According to what you say his contract is worth. as a 30 Year dude.

"Gotta move him for assets." WhyHuh? Traditionally Cup contenders, gee even playoff contenders do not trade upcoming UFAs. They keep their own and might even add a UFA for a Cup one.
Seems like teams (or ACGMs) are so paranoid about getting assets for upcoming UFAs. If that's the case why would any team trade for Pietrangelo or any other UFA?

Teams that are non contenders aren't trading for a rental. Pietrangelo NMC nixes some of those proposed trades.

Wrong? You can’t? Well hot damn, sounds like you’ve got a some fortune telling skills. Tell me more? Who’s going to win the cup this year?

As for your point, who cares about the money he’s getting down the line. He’s a rental, let’s talk about him like a rental. Thinking he isn’t the best d man on the team is totally fine. That’s a subjective opinion that I disagree with, but he played the role of the number one D man for a Stanley cup winning team. He is viewed as a number one d man. When was the last time a number one d man got traded in season? I literally can’t remember. THe last big time D man deadline deal was Shattenkirk (McDonagh I guess, but he went with Miller so it’s kind of tough to tell value). Shattenkirk stinks and he got a 1st, 2nd, and a couple prospects. Couple years before that Kaberle (not a number 1 either), got a 1st, a 2nd, and a high end prospect.

It is so rare that a D man of that caliber goes on the market at all, let alone during the season. Starts with a first, a young roster player, and a high end prospect.

Two fortune tellers going at it.

To be honest there is no way Toronto adds to that deal. I don’t even see that move as an option. Certainly doesn’t fit our cap.

I'd do the Vegas deal for sure. Tampa trade is tempting, but not adding the pick. NO NO NO NO NO to the Jersey trade.
