TBL will most likely have to pay to move assets or at least, they won't get full value

No really cap issues for 2020 unless they overpay for Sergachev .. he a 3rd pair D so 6M is laughable .. maybe a 3M AAV for couple years as worse case .. reality is Tampa should be trading the shrimps for performance and fit never mind contract .. the 4 are 20M combined... if Cup isnt won .. look for Stamkos also to be moved .. should have plenty of cap to add new UFAs a d TDL moves

You really think Palat and Killorn have Edmonton and Ottawa on their "trade list"?Huh? Even with M NTC players can block a trade to team with cap or team they don't want to go too.

In what world is he a 3rd pairing D?
He's easily in the top-10 best under 23 D-men (Dhalin, Heiskanen, Sergachev, Provorov, Chabot among others

I just made those trade because teams will have the cap space to get those players.
But a deal could be made with other teams.

There's no incentive for either Palat or Killorn to waive to either Edmonton or Ottawa, Both have full NTC and Tampa is still closer to contending for a cup then either Edmonton or Ottawa.

Palat wont waive for Edmonton, And Killorn is surely not waiving for a joke of a team there in Ottawa.

NTCs are only a piece of paper .. demote them to Syracuse if they dont go .. force them out .. happens ALL the time and players with value will go with it ..

Palat has a full ntc. he dictates the deal. Doubt he moves teams same with johnson. Killorn has a partial so they will likely move him to one of the teams on his list i highly highly doubt any teams that arent "contenders" will be on that list.

Yeah, you could do that. But if they report to the AHL (and why wouldn't they) you save very little cap. Maybe 200,000. Gee, it doesn't happen ALL the time for NHL capable players making that type of money. Like to see some examples.
Even their contracts....even teams with cap may not think they worth it to claim on waivers, which is really the only way around a NTC.

Even if a player has a 16 team...."trade me to list," it's easy to come up with 16 team that have no cap for him, or no motivation to help Tampa.

never said it was easier. just more likely than getting palat or johnson to waive a full ntc.

Seeing as how Palat has had a resurgence in his game this season, I don't see Tampa asking him to waive. Only real player I could see them asking is Gourde, and even then seems doubtful. Killorn will get moved, if it requires a small sweetener or if the Lightning don't get as much value as maybe they should, so be it. Serg is never getting 6 million on this contract, ~4.5 is what they'll eventually settle on for a bridge. He is not getting more than McAvoy or Werenski. It is going to be tricky, but by moving Killorn, plus the cap increasing maybe 2-3 million gives Tampa a chance to sign the 4 rfa's. The final decision will likely come down to between whether they keep Joseph or Paquette, as they may get squeezed there. I think Paquette gets moved before Joseph due to Tampa's C depth, but I could see Joseph as a nice trade chip at the tdl if that's JBB's plan.
