Yikes, Zucker trade is the only one mildly reasonable. Larsson is leagues better than Ceci and mid round picks arent nearly enough to make up that difference.
Olofsson is better than Johnsson, and cheaper. There is a reason he is playing on the 1st line in buffalo

Larsson isn't leagues better than anyone. Perhaps a little better than Ceci but he's not good. Never has been anything special just a better version of Gudbranson.

Along with Mikheyev, Kerfoot and Ceci have been two of our best players since the beginning of the season. We'd be below .500 without them. I mean literally: they have 2 GWG.

What do you mean? Larson is equal value to Taylor Hall...............well, according to Chiarelli anyway

Larsson is a solid #4 dman playing in a top pairing role. He’s a lot better than Ceci , who is one of the worst defenders in the league. Larsson is better defensively than everyone on the leafs with the exception of muzzin.

So many questionable moves, but I'll leave it at this, do you really think the Leafs are BETTER with Gauthier as their third line C?

There is literally no proof of this. Larsson is a negative possession player, has little to no offence, can't really move the puck but hits a lot. He has a positive public perception that is completely undeserved. He is hardly an upgrade over anyone. He's a bottom 4 defenceman.

Don't like the Zucker trade at all for a Leafs. But the other two are highly favoured for the Leafs.

He’s not a positive possession player because he spends most of his starts are in the Dzone. He has a positive xGA and CA/60 , meaning he’s above average defensively

I have not seen these stats. I have just recently been seeing how possession data is now being correlated differently which is a good thing. The whole starting most of the time in your own zone will totally sway possession numbers in a negative light, however, Larsson isn't anything special. I don't look at him as much more than a better version of Zaitsev. He isn't great and he isn't terrible. He's just a player. He doesn't move the needle at all and at this stage of his career I doubt he ever will. Good depth guy but that's it.

I completely agree with that, I don't think he's trash, I just don't think he's anything special. Just a pretty good #4 guy. I'd love to have him on the Leafs but I think I'd want him at about 3.5 and playing on the 2nd pair and killing penalties. I'd wager with the current lineup, he'd be paired with Rielly to be the shutdown pair which is insane, since Muzzin is the best defender on the team in that regard, but Babs knows best. (He doesn't)

Muzzin is a better all around defenseman than larsson, but they are about the same defensively. Putting a #4 guy with Reilly to be the shutdown pairing allows muzzin and barrie to attack offensively against lesser competition, but still be solid defensively.

Reilly - barrie would be too much of a liability in their own zone so that’s out of the question.

I am not so sure, it would be interesting to see them together. Your other statement though is just not true, Muzzin is an upper echelon defensive player. I think he'd make a deadly shutdown pair with Dermott and Barrie with Rielly could be all offense and still not terrible in their zone but man would that be creative. Either way, Larsson just isn't anything special for what it would cost. I think internal players will be more than adequate without costing anything.

Plus the defence isn't the problem so much as defensively systematic breakdowns in the defensive zone that has been the problem. They need to tighten up their play in their own zone. Missed assignments and blown positioning have been the biggest problem. Some of that may be just a matter of early season shaking the rust off. They could start gelling and much of this will be a worry of the past.
