Why the **** would the Penguins help out one of their biggest rivals by taking on a bad contract and give up assets for it too?

Hall will get 3M more than what you gave him here.

Patrick won't sign another baby contract

Where to begin...

1. We aren't trading Oshie. We certainly aren't trading Oshie to Pittsburgh, and won't get that package in return.

2. We're not trading Wilson to a division rival for an under-performing RFA.

3. We're not trading Eller. He's better than Patrick, and is on a fair contract.

4. If we traded Panik, we're not going to get a 2nd for him.

5. We sure as hell aren't getting a 2nd back for Jensen right now.

6. Hall is getting more money than that, and even then, we aren't signing him.

7. We aren't signing Hoffman either.

8. We aren't signing Brodie, Ceci, or Hainsey. We have far too many near NHL ready defensemen in the system to sign a bunch of UFA plugs.

9. We aren't signing Connor Sheary to that contract to play on the fourth line, especially when we have cheaper players who are better suited for that role.

10. I doubt Sutter is NHL ready next year.

11. Hathaway is a good player. He won't be in Hershey.

12. Only thing that could happen is signing a goalie like Greiss to back up Samsonov if we part ways with Holtby.

Caps priority is re-signing Backstrom, Ovi and Vrana by 2021. Maybe add a good backup behind Samsonov when Holtby leaves.

Bring up a couple guys for defense. Alex and Fehervary mainly.

The forwards are pretty much set as is for the next year or two.

They may move Panik within the next year, but they're not getting a lot for him.

Hathaway is playing like a third line winger for us right now and won't ever touch the AHL unless it's an injury rehab.

Also everything staytru20 said.

I mean, points for creativity, though.
