I don't have a read on Puljujärvi.. with EDM, he was awful..

But now he's putting up >1ppg in the Ligaa

I think this trades gets it done in the offseason.. but now, it might take a little more.. (Although I like Veronneau)

Was reading a "don't get too hyped up on Puljujarvi's production" piece yesterday. I think the just of it was that 1 point in the Finnish league translates to about .49 pts in the NHL. That puts Puljujarvi at about 40 ish pts/82 games.

I mean, Ottawa has a ton of picks and prospects, so it wouldn't be the end of the world to take a chance, but if it was me, I'd feel that it was a prettttttty risky move, especially with the way that Veronneau played in limited action last year.

Regardless of the trade value, signing a free agent out of college and trading him to Edmonton after 6 months is a good way to never sign a free agent out of college again.

2 Thirds should be more than enough to get Pool Party

That's like saying that someone was awful on some NHL team, but is currently putting up points in the ECHL, so trade for him for your NHL team...

It's not, he's just a troll. Liiga is better than the AHL, nearly on par with the SHL.

Not sure if it's better than the AHL..

Just did a little research, and it goes (1. NHL, 2. KHL, 3. SHL, 4. AHL, 5. Liiga) Surprisingly, the KHL's hockey caliber is closer to the NHL where as the SHL, AHL, and Liiga are very similar.

Anyways, >1PPG in Ligga is impressive, especially as a Kid. I think he's top 5 in points. Looking very promising.

You're right, I just looked up Vollman's figures and he has Liiga at .452 and AHL at .486. Interestingly, in Champions league play Puljujarvi's Karpat played Skelleftea of the SHL and they were very, very close.

Do you think he comes back this season?

Only if he's traded, I think. IMO the most likely outcome is that he plays the whole season in Liiga and then gets traded prior to the draft.
