That’s a soft offer. The Blues aren’t gonna trade him unless they’re out of it, and if that happens you’re looking at something like one of Hague/Krebs/Elvenes + 1st +. Think of the Duchene trade last year but probably more considering Pietrangelo’s better and the Blues have seemingly more leverage.

If Pietrangelo was to be traded, I think it would be a sign-and-trade to maximize the return so I would look at the Mark Stone trade as a benchmark.
- 1st round pick
- Top prospect
- Roster/depth player bc the time acquiring Pietrangelo would probably cap space

Stone was traded for a second, a prospect, and a roster player. So would a trade of a 2nd, Hague, and Eakin be enough? The second could be whichever one St Louis wants.

Also does the fear of Pietrangelo leaving in the off-season play a role?

Just wondering, when do you imagine this trade could take place?

Honestly, at any point if the Blues get spooked and think Pietrangelo won't resign. I know they've offered him and he's turned it down.

I feel the Sens could've gotten 1st if it wasn't Dorion making the decision.

Muh huh. Not sure how you get that idea, but this offer is hella-weal. No use for Eakin, who is also a UFA next summer, Whitecloud is meh, the picks are okay but we aren't trading our captain for a pile of okay futures. Gotta do better than that.
