Bye the Seab

Created by: Aussie_Blackhawk
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 25, 2019
Published: Oct. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
On the Top Line you could switch between Nylander and Perlini and you could also switch Kaner and Shaw

The third line seems to be our most consistent so cannot touch that.

If we continue the way we played today against the flyers, playoff hockey won't return and that means we become sellers on trade deadline.

With that in mind, I thought we might be able to get a 1st rounder for Gustaffson from the Lightning as they can create space next year for an improved contract and adds another two-way defencement to their already stellar cast.

Then to assist with our Cap situation, I had to say Bye-Bye to Brent Seabrook who has been a magnificent servant to our franchise but the time is now to move on to an improving coyotes and get one of the old crew back in Hjalmarrson to help clean up our defensive issues and to help the trade I had to chuck in the prior acquired 1st rounder.

As for the highmore and sikura trades, they were to get some more prospects on board as both don't appear to be making the lineup this year.

To replace Gus offensive output I brought up Boqvist which is roughly the same time the Sens brought up EK and hoping to allow him to develop over the final period of the season ready for the following year to push on and help create offence from the blue line.

What would you say if they added rights to a 3rd round pick from last couple of years? Someone like a Nordgren?

LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL so you want to move the WORST contract in the league that a team wouldn't take THIRD OA to take and you're just moving out your first which won't be 3 OA, and your asking for one of the best DFD's in the league, and a top pair guy on ARZ... Who they wouldn't even move for a first alone

Nope you've got to add something valuable to get rid of Seabrook. He's on a bad contract which isn't aging well. And worst of all: his contract is basically buyout proof. It's a lot to take on for a team which is trying to make the playoffs.

That TBL 1st rounder has pretty much the same value as the Sens 2nd round pick so it's not that great. Just look at the Marleau trade. Marleau, a 1st and 7th for a 6th round pick. You're offering less value on a way worse contract while getting more in return. To get rid of Seabrook, you'll have to give at least a 1st rounder from a non-playoff team and something with like a 2nd round value like a middle 6 forward or a 2nd pairing D-man. Or a great prospect and the TBL 1st or any non-playoff team 2nd rounder IMO.

Seabs and a swap of 1sts from 10th to 3rd wasnt enough. A 1st alone with nothing coming back...idk. maybe. Compliance buyout maybe? He has a Full NMC NTC. So he'll have to approve it. I'd bench him. It was bad last night.

“Sellers at the TDL” and all you have to show for it is a second, a seventh and Hammer who is on LTIR with a broken leg. And you barely sold anything. Get ballsy and trade Toews like the rest of us emotional fans! ?

I can't bring myself to trade Toews frown

However yes by sellers I only meant moving Gus if he comes good again though you do have a point as do a lot of the comments on here about Seabs contract and the difficulty in moving it.
