Ducks in on Hall

Created by: Icarus
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 24, 2019
Published: Oct. 25, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ducks rumored to be 1 of 3 teams in on Hall.
Not sure how true this is. But I can imagine Hall would like to stay in anaheim if this were true.
Finding fair value would be hard, but I have a decent package here.

Ritchie isn’t a 30 goal scorer. But he is a 20 goal scorer with the right players. He’s a big body and physical presence NJ needs and can move through the lineup well. I kind of think how pat maroon was with McDavid, Ritchie could do that with Hughes.
Mahura is a great prospect but possibly an odd man out for the ducks on LD. He’s a great offensive D and could be ready by next year.
I feel like 2 picks might be too much with the conditional 2nd. But it all depends on what is negotiated before hand. If this a rental only, BM is paying less than that.
Trades
NJD
  1. Mahura, Josh
  2. Ritchie, Nick
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (ANA)
  4. 2021 3rd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
2nd becomes a first if shall resigns. This assumed a “trade and sign” isn’t in place.
I considered maybe Eriksson Ek in place of Mahura, as NJ could use some extra goalie depth. But Mahura is probably still considered a blue chip prospect.

Package is light, Mahura is still a good prospect but no longer blue chip, and what is your source? who are the other 2 teams?

I would see the package inflating with a trade and sign. Not a rental.
I saw it reported NhlTradeRumors with the source being Luke Fox of Sportsnet. It’s important to note that he doesn’t say they have inquired but assuming interest and candidates.

This package is extremely light. Mahura is not in Pronman's top 124 prospects, and the package does not include a first rounder. Nick Ritchie has never sniffed 20 goals and has only topped 30 pts once. A realistic package would probably start with Comtois and a first, with another pick tossed in if he resigns.

Sadly, I must confess that I agree with you. And rather than entertain pipe dreams about Taylor Hall, Bob Murray should be trying to address the problem of a weak RD, particularly now that Josh Manson may be injured. He should be thinking ahead about all sorts of free agents from Mark Pysyk to Alex Pietrangelo and whether there is any way he could pry Brett Pesce away from a temporarily incompetent Don Waddell.

If we're talking about the New Jersey Devils, I'd much rather explore the subject of Damon Severson.

Agreed. RD is a bigger need. I think we are still lacking a true goal scorer, though Rakell and Silfverberg can surprise at times. But if we don’t get our D figured out Gibson will be exhausted before the season is half over.

Well we just traded for Gusbranson. So that answers that.

I’m hoping for more as well. But I also have little faith in GMBM
