Dude is 34 and still has 7 years to go. Montreal would be lucky to make any profit off a Weber trade. No way anyone will trade a 1st for a 34 year old with an 8x7 contract. Even if he retires 5 years from now it’s awful.

His real salary is more like 6x3, but whatever if you don't want a number 1 defensemen. BTW how much money will you'll need to give Nurse to prevent him from leaving? IMO, no amount will be high enough.

It’s not a smart move for the Oilers to make, plain and simple. I just isn’t, Weber is a great player but there is every chance he plays till the contract expires unless there is an injury bug that hits him. The Oilers are cap screwed already but adding a declining 34 year old dman is not good asset management. Also, why exactly is Nurse relevant in this conversation? Along with that Nurse is a RFA. Keep feeding your ego, though!
