He did indeed. He was an AHLer for the leafs for about 2-3 years, earned his promotion and was traded to the ducks after about 1 season

I haven’t seen this years numbers but in limited time last season Holzer was actually decent. I was surprised. I think he’s actually an NHL D, may only be a 6/7 but NHL quality at least. Don’t see a need for Ceci and his $4.5M cap. I would’ve taken Ceci over Gudbranson tho.

I just figured that if the ducks want to upgrade their d without long term commitment Ceci makes sense.

Ceci is a decent d who has just been asked to do too much in his career.

Playing 19minutes against mid tier opposition he can excel.

If the Leafs need to dump cap he could probably be had for minimal cost. Win win

Before Gudbranson sure but they already added a guy with poor analytics. They shoulda traded for Honka tbh. He fits the team better age and development wise.

I can understand that.

I just think that Ceci's problem had been usage. The Leafs have been forced to make the same mistake. I think Ceci's analytics would look better with better usage...

I also think he makes sense for the ducks as the cost is so low. No long term commitment, just cap space which has value but at this point in the season less than it did in the summer.

Toronto needs to dump cap, the ducks need a replacement rhd. It seems like a win-win and makes so much more sense than the Gudbranson deal. Plus ceci only has 1 year left. Unless the leafs think that hes a top pair guy, they have no reason to keep him in their current cap situation.

So, if Ceci is a cap dump, why is ANA also giving up a 3rd? Seems like TOR should be adding in the 3rd, not ANA

Because I think he is useful for you. You have tonnes of cap space. You just paid less for a ****tier player stuck on term. So I figure you'd pay a little more for a better player with no long term commitment.
