Need a useful forward leave suggestions

Created by: STLBlues17
Team: 2019-20 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 27, 2019
Published: Oct. 27, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tarasenko, Steen, Kyrou, and Blais are out and the forward group looks really top heavy right now. Barbashev, Sundqvist, Sanford, Fabbri, and Mac have been pretty useless through 12 games and Thomas hasn’t come around yet either. Looking for really any type of forward who’s at least somewhat decent.

Enh, he’s an option, but out powerplay has been pretty good and I’m not sure he’s in the green at even strength

With Nick Paul playing as well he has, and guys like Anisimov and Balcers coming back soonish, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyler Ennis becomes available. Probably be cheap to get him, and he can fill in pretty well anywhere including both special teams.

Probably not the sexiest acquisition, but he's very cost effective

Montreal habs might have a forward available. Depending on what price your willing to pay there different option. A guy like byron can play up in down the line up bring a ton of speed kill penalty and add average around 20 goal last 3 season with limited ice time. He would cost less than tatar who bring more offensive attributes but the blues would have to pay a good returns for tatar.

Good options guys, I like Byron more than Ennis and I think he’d be a real good fit. Bozak has been really good playing with horrendous linemates and I think Byron would look great on his wing.

Yeah byron is very underrated and since montreal have suzuki and now poehling who is pushing for a roster spot in Montreal st louis could use is speed on a third line and on the pk with o’reilly. I think that montreal would trade him for pick

We have a) options in San Antonio & b) no cap space. Besides, calling that group useless is a bit overboard. Relax.

Zucker always seems to be on the block for some reason, not sure why. Cody Eakin has been thrown around a lot in the last year too. Det would happily trade Helm or Glendening for a mid round pick.

Do we have options in San Antonio? Kyrou’s still probably a month away and Kostin doesn’t seem ready. Maybe Walker, but he’s a career AHLer. They don’t need to break the bank, they just need someone who’s cheap and better than what they have. Outside of the top-6 which now has 2 injuries, they only have 5 goals. Sundqvist and Bozak have been good given the circumstances, but guys like Fabbri/Sanford/Barbashev/Maceachern haven’t really done anything at all.

Hmm. Goals aren't the only things these players provide. Actually, right now, what we need is to allow fewer goals. Anyway, Kostin is close to ready, showing improvement down in SA. Walker, Lappin and Poganski also offer various talents. And MacMac looks improved, as well.

They’re not providing defense either. Sundqvist/Barbashev are both rocking expected goals shares in the 35% range and Fabbri and Sanford aren’t relied on for defense either. Honestly, the 5v5 defense has been pretty good but the goaltending has been subpar. The 5v5 offense has been really bad and that’ll reflect in goal differential once the shooting percentages of Schenn/Perron regress.
