Maybe not, we'll see next year. He gets put with McDavid every time he gets recalled though... anyway, between Neal, Hoffman and him they should be able to cover the RW positions on three scoring lines.

It's the type of contract Melnyk loves: $4M cap hit, $1.5M cash payout. Veteran, shot-blocker, PKer, 1 year contract. Can take the defensive pressure off the young offensive defensemen Ottawa has. Can play either side. Ottawa could lose all of Hainsey, Borowiecki, DeMelo and Goloubef - 4 of their current 7 defenders - to UFA this summer.

I can see Dorion making this deal.
