Don't trade Gourde .. he is on pace for 8 goals and 29 points on a 32M 6 year deal .. he only 28 so don't worry there still time .. he was only in minors for 8 years

Compher has a decent cap hit in terms of helping Tampa in that regard, but Gourde isn't waiving his ntc and he is a solid 2nd/3rd line player in his own right on a fair contract. I don't think the Lightning are targeting Martinez but they wouldn't need the retention and 2 good young players plus a 2nd is too steep. Kreider is who I hope they go after(either him or Toffoli maybe), but if Joseph is involved, it's him and a 2nd at best. Joseph+a conditional 3rd(becomes a 2nd if Tampa goes to the ECF or something) or if the NYR want a 1st, then it's a 1st plus someone like Verhaeghe or Raddysh maybe, but not Joseph and a 1st for a rental.

I posted on your other one. Swap out Katchouk for Perbix and I think the Kings would go for it.

Gourde has been on the 2nd line plenty. He usually shifts between the 2nd and 3rd lines, and is usually a solid 2 way player. Many on the Lightning have struggled offensively to start this season, not just Gourde. However his 5.17 aav is fair, his 2 full seasons he has produced 112 points in 162 games, or nearly .7 ppg. Even looking at his entire nhl career, he has 125 points in 194 games, or .64 ppg. That equates to a low to mid 50 point player, which makes his contract a fair one. The ntc may have been a mistake, but the value was not.

They guy had 64 points two years ago and people on this site act like he can't play because he has a ntc
