Overpayment for Zucker, take out the first and maybe add a 2nd or a 3rd with Bjugstad. No way would pens be okay with giving up a first for zucker.

Bjugstad and a 2nd is plenty. Zucker is not a star, and his contract is not good (not horrible, but not good)

Zucker, top line time, top PP, 5 points. No 5v5 goals and only 2 5v5 assists. People can keep pointing at the 60 point season, but be is an expensive, rather one-dimentional 20g+20a guy.

This only makes sense to me if Hörnqvist is the guy going the other way

Yeah Zucker is a possession, speeding, skilled beast who would get 70 points in PIT.

Sure but you dont trade based on what he will become when he plays for you, you trade for what the player is worth playing on his current team. We could easily get zucker for far less than a top 9 forward, third, AND a first. If that is the asking price then it would be a huge pass from me.

The value doesn’t have to be on the money for the trade to make sense. I could have nixed the 1st but the basic principle of bjugstad + picks for Zucker makes sense for both teams

I agree with this. I don't see this improving the team at 5v5.

Hornqvist is a better 5v5 player.

This right now to me is a reach. This team needs to win at 5v5 to contend for a cup. The problem with Kessel was he lost his effectiveness in 5v5 play. Yes they kind of miss him on the PP but it's the 5v5 play that is more important.

Zucker is alright but to me he is a mid 6 winger.
There is no need to over pay for one.
On top of it you are taking on that cap hit for the next 3 years after this year.
I don't really think that's a wise decision.
There are better players to target in the offseason.

With the way Simon is playing it's not needed as I could see Zucker with Sid and Jake. I wouldn't do the first but I'd be interested in doing Hornqvist and a prospect or late round pick. I think Zuckers game would change a lot in a new system. No one looks good in minny
