    Hes on the decline with one more year after this, I think Hague and a 2nd gets it done

    Are they looking for more of Dmen prospects? Or would they take forward prospects?

    MTL's biggest needs are top end forwards (top 6) and LHD

    I think it would be Hague and a 1st for Petry with RS if anything had to happen. He's not a rental and Petry at 3 millions is a steal

    @2021 TDL maybe.

    Considering he is MTL No 1 defenceman, has one full year left on his cheap contract and is not on the decline at all : Hague, a 1st and Holden.

    Too much for you? Well that's the price, so move along! :P

    How is he declining?? He just post is two best season back to back and have a great start this year. Defenseman are like wine most of them still are very effective in their late 30’s

    Unless Habs are out of the playoff picture early and are willing to part with arguably their best dman currently, I imagine a 1st and a decent prospect would do it. The Muzzin deal is probably closest and he got a 1st and a two prospects so a 1st and a prospect is fair IMO. Probably makes more sense for the Habs next TDL though as they are probably really trying to make the playoffs this year and without Petry that becomes nearly impossible.

    Personally if Hague isn't mentionned I don't know if I don't hang up on you. /s

    To be fair he's at the peak of his prime right now and on a really friendly contract for one more season (2 playoff push).
    What would Montreal be interested that you have? Obvious answer is Hague .. I guess it would need some tweaking but I'm sure something other than 1v1 could happen. Whitecloud, Kallionkieli and Kolesar are prospects that I'm personally interested in but I don't know how much value they'd really have otherwise it's picks and it's THIS year's pick.

    Hague + 2020 2nd for Petry + LeGuerrier (LHD prospect) (No retained salary, kick up the 2nd for a first or add another 2nd for retained salary)

    I ain't no MTL GM but seeing my defensive corp as it is right now I am not hot at the idea of trading my best piece from my subpar D-corp on a friendly deal for nothing and thus why my price would be high.

    Schuldt + 1st take it or leave it.

    Hague is off the table, as he always was and always will be.

    I'd say TOP LHD pairing. We're more than fine with the depth at LHD -especially with all our young prospects- but it's really missing only a top2 guy.

    I'll admit Schuldt had a hell of a season in the NCAA and he would pair magically well on a second pairing behind Theodore. The exact reason why you could trade hague and not be stuck against the wall is that you still have Schuldt AND Whitecloud which are developing nicely. You locked up your top pairing guy for years so the need for Hague is there but you could still manage something good enough with your bottom 4 without him.
