I don't think taking on a bad contract is the best way to get a 3C...

At this stage in his career, Kyle Turris is a #3C at best. It would be crazy to pay him $6 million per for 5 years just to be your #3C. Edmonton is already saddled with $21 million between McDavid and Draisaitl for the foreseeable future.

These are great ideas. I like the idea of an overpaid 3C who can score. Kyle Turris would be a great target. I think Edmonton should have offer-sheeted Kapanen (i.e. paid a 2nd round draft pick for him), but too late for that! Not sure what Toronto would take for him though (or even if they want to trade him).
