idk I guess from detroits view its ok. it cant be anything but better for Toronto. if youlike ceci as a player then I suppose its worth it, I kind of dont so I think maybe trading green and howard to different teams may get you a bigger reward

I'm not a Ceci fan, but picking up Mike Green isn't an upgrade.

Why would you throw in another offensive defenseman to the mix when we are already having some issues with our current new acquisition (Barrie). If you proposed a Tyler Bertuzzi for Johnsson swap, I'd be down for that.

I think Moore and the 2nd are the real pieces here. Personally I would not do it.

yeah the 2nd is good and a 2nd for either howard or green is probably the going rate anyways, I dont know or seen enough of moore to really pick either way I guess

No reason to move Zetterberg. First Franzen is off the books at the end of this season. Second next season is Zetterberg's final season if it really becomes a problem he is only owed $1M. So if Toronto really wants the final season of Zetterberg's LTIR fine but Detroit won't give up anything for Toronto to take it. Do you really think Detroit is going to bring Moore in to Detroit with a Bertuzzi on the team? Come on use your head. Do I really need to go on! This won't ever happen.

Moore and Bertuzzi same team. That's a good idea.

Toronto does not want the Zetterberg contract, being over the cap for 1 year is already bad enough but 2 is stupid

Green hates Babcock with a passion, No way Green waives for Toronto, And Detroit isn't dealing Zetterberg either so not happening. And Howard has already stated that he plans on retiring a Red Wing. So don't see any of these deals going down with Toronto.

A lot of fans seem to say that about a lot of players on their teams when the ultimate truth is, these deals, for these kinds of players happen. In some cases, the salary cap makes it difficult, but who would have thought that Seth Jones would get traded for Ryan Johanson. I think before that deal, you could have considered either player "untouchable".

I'm not sure why DET would consider a swap of Bertuzzi for Johnsson anyway? Yes, they shouldn't get locked into their own players, but Johnsson isn't an upgrade over Bertuzzi (they are about equal in scoring), they are the same age, Bert is bigger (5'10 vs 6'1 for Bert) and Bertuzzi has chemistry with Larkin and Mantha, which Johnsson doesn't. The move makes no sense, other than fans like certain guys.

The Wing's have been grooming Bertuzzi to be a Wings back when uncle Todd was on the team. Now add in Detroit taking Bertuzzi about 2 rounds before before any one had him going.

Jones didn't really didn't breakout until he got to Columbus and Nashville's had the best and deepest dcore in the league and needed more offense heading to the playoffs.

Both kids, at least then, were top-4 picks in the draft and important pieces. My point is, there is clearly situations where good players get dealt for whatever reason. The Leafs need grit, the Red Wings, well I'd argue they need a lot of things, but adding young top-6 scoring doesn't take away from anything. If anything, it would likely enable Johnsson/Kapanen more playing time in a style of play they are probably more comfortable with. Divisional trades don't really happen much either.

There aren't many players like Bertuzzi in the NHL. Plus Bertuzzi leading the Wings in scoring and his last 20 games he has 26 points.

With Johnsson you factor in who he is playing with this season all of his points but 1 have Matthews or Marnier not being part of it and that 1 point was an assist on a Nylander goal. Even if he is on the second or third line he's not playing against the other teams top defensive players. Even without Tavares The Leafs still have 2 scary good lines that teams have to account for and when Tavares in the line up it's 3 lines that other teams have to plan for.

Ideally Bertuzzi is on the top line with Larkin and Mantha and they are the only line that needs to be accounted for. To try to spark offense from other players they have split up that top line and Bertuzzi is still producing when a lot off people thought he couldn't put up points unless he was with Larkin and Mantha.

Now you don't have to agree with me but I'm pretty confident Detroit isn't trading Bertuzzi at all but especially not for just Johnsson. If they didn't trade Bertuzzi it wouldn't be for a player that Bertuzzi is arguably better than. They would most likely looking for a good young dman and since Toronto needs the same thing it's just 1 more reason this won't happen.
