Description
Welp, Looks like Dach is staying since they publicly came out and said it yesterday. That's NOT that move I would have made for this year or down the road quite frankly, but it's the move they made. I will say in their defense...If CHI can rotate Saad/Shaw/Kane around him for the year...is there any better set of professionals to help guide him along?

The Hawks aren't winning it all this year. There are a lot of teams out there with some real talent and ready to win now. I just hope Bowman takes ALL of his UFAs (including Lehner) and gets what he can. I 100% AGAINST the whole...well keep Lehner if you want to resign him. It's a freakin business. He's a very valuable asset. He might make the choice this summer to leave for somewhere else. How huge a loss would that be?! Trade him, talk to him in the summer, maybe he gets a NMC. All that's fine, but definitely trade him. We need draft picks and he can EASILY get a 1st rounder.

Like the idea of Crawford to Leafs, but not at expense of Ceci. Ceci has OK and certainly not the worse Dman despite what is written on CapFriendly. And since no RHD is forthcoming, Leafs can't do it.
Think Canes are happy with their goalies this year. What the Hawks need is goalie to be injured on true contender, which would up the price of Crawford, Lehner.
Is it wise to have two young goalies playing on a stripped down Hawks team?

Very Fair! I appreciate the feedback. For the TOR trade...there would have to be cap going back. Who else? I'm not disagreeing with you. Just curious.

I think we need to put Mrazek into context. He's got (2) shutouts. Against CHI, who unfortunately appear like they enjoy being shut out...and the Kings. I mean, NO ONE in CAR should be comfortable with that. Their Defense is definitely leading that charge. Lets see him play against real competition night in and night out. I do however agree that an injury ( I don't wish upon anyone ) would help trade value.

Probably not, but Delia did it last year for 16 games. He's kinda the only bright spot in Rockford. They have the same situation. Delia faces 45+ shots a night. I'd be ok with bringing him up.

Why on earth would Edmonton trade two 2nds to rent CECI?! That makes ZERO SENSE.

Shed $5M in cap. Ceci's been pretty good this year. @palhal is a very knowledgeable Leafs fan. He'd know. AND another EDM fan posted that he thought is would be good for EDM.

It doesn't shed anything - all the players are UFA's next summer. Ceci isn't worth two 2nds, especially since he doesn't address Edmonton's biggest weakness - wingers. RHD is fine: Bear is a revelation playing 1RD, Persson is doing well at 2RD and Benning is one of the best 3RD's in the league. And Adam Larsson will be back in a month.

NO! If he wants to be here when the team stinks...he'll want to be here when it's good.

***EDIT*** @CrazyK04 Let's put this another way. Let's pretend Stan only does 1 move today and that's sign Lehner to the $8M 8 years like you suggest. That Leaves $3M + standard Cap Increase to sign Strome, Kubalik, Drake, Bring up Delia's $1M, and (2) ELC Defensemen. It's just tight.

Mrazek is playing really well this year. They aren't gonna give up all that for a goalie they don't need in the slightest.

Water always finds its level. The true Mrazek will appear. Just go 1 step further into the detail behind his mediocre numbers this year. (2) shut outs against bottom feeders...take that away and his .879 SV% and roughly 2.83 GAA isn't impressive. The Kings are in Last Place and the Hawks are 2nd to last in scoring. The defense leads the charge for BOTH Mrazek and Reimer. They might have the best D in the league, but when competition actually starts to roll into town consistently...we'll see.

How's this. Crawford retained 3m, and Gustaffsson two expiring contracts for Kapanen at 3.2m this year and next plus I believe at least 2 more of Hawks control. Maybe Hutchinson for 700,000...doesn't affect the cap to the Hawks or Rockford.
Leafs get immediate help in net and defence for a year. Hawks get a 2nd, 3rd line winger, good PKer with term.

Deal. I like Kap. I like his talent. I like what he can bring to the Hawks. Speedy, Versatile, 2 years left and STILL on an RFA. Heck, Stan and Co. can even sell this to the fan base.
