Well pietrangelo isn’t going to be signing that lol

Also why are people still mad about the buff situation? He had surgery and is recovering, there’s no reason for anyone to be upset with him lol. Clearly he wants to come back and play if he got the surgery and hasn’t retires.

I am by no means upset, and would love to have him back on the team. I think the fact that he went to Minnesota and had the surgery done on his own dime without the Jets even knowing seems odd. Also, had the Jets been aware of his injury. Why wouldn't he have opted to remain getting paid and go on long term IR? IMO something just doesn't sound right about all of this.

Also, you are probably right about Pietrangelo, probably a million shy of what it would cost.

If you think Pietrangelo signs a deal outside of St Louis for less than 7 years and less than 8m, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

What do you think buffs gonna do in WPG lo, go to some average surgeon?? No, he’s gonna go somewhere he can get the top of the line treatment. The jets 100% knew about the injury, yeah they weren’t sure he was gonna get surgery or not but they knew he was hurt.

I do agree though that something is off, I really don’t know why he’s not on LTiR and idk it’s weird.

if i'm a 30-year-old, top of the 2020 class defenseman with a cup ring signing a 5 year deal, i would start the bidding at 11m.

Personally I hope Buff either comes back to play or drags this out past the TDL so Chevy can't make a brutal trade.

I am pretty sure the doctors and surgeons for these players are not local guys. They most certainly did not know about the injury, read the story. Had he reported that he had an injury. He would not have been able to be suspended without pay. They would've had to add him to IR and continue paying him.

I suppose I could be totally off on this, but I am not signing a 30 year old to anything more than 6 years.

Who would you rather have: Alex Pietrangelo, Erik Karlsson or Drew Doughty?

Enough said.

Of course, if you are thinking rationally about what the contract means down the line, but teams that want the player now are going to need to give that term and dollar to get him to sign. Nobody is getting this guy on a value or what he should get efficiently deal, you have to overpay to get the guy to leave. He has already signed a low ball deal like that to stay in St Louis if that was all he was gonna be able to get.
